Chapter Scholarships
PURPOSE:
MGMA/Alabama is sponsoring three Scholarship/Professional Development Awards to promote medical practice management education for its members.
SELECTION:
MGMA/Alabama Scholarship Committee (President, President-Elect serves as Chair, Vice President and Committee Member at Large, North or South)
BACKGROUND:
The MGMA-Alabama Mission is to promote the professional development of its members and to this end the MGMA/Alabama Board of Directors has established three Active Member Scholarships/Professional Development Awards to be awarded annually at the Winter/Summer Conference.
ELIGIBILITY:
To be eligible for the Scholarships/Professional Development Awards, applicant must be a MGMA/Alabama Active Member in good standing for a period of at least one year and meet the criteria outlined below.
The Donna Wood Professional Development Scholarship will be awarded to an Active Member of MGMA/Alabama who is pursuing continuing education either through a formalized degree program or registration/lodging for a national MGMA Sponsored conference or other national MGMA conference designed to strengthen management skills. The applicant must be employed at the time of submission. (Must submit expenses up to $1,000.00)
The Bill Cockrell Professional Development Award will be awarded to an Active Member of MGMA/Alabama who is pursuing certification of fellowship through the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). The applicant must be employed at the time of submission. ($365 covers MGMA –ACMPE Membership Dues)
A Professional Development Award will be awarded to an Active Member of MGMA/Alabama interested in pursuing continuing education through attendance at the MGMA/Alabama Annual Conference. The applicant must be employed at the time of submission (Registration and two nights lodging for MGMA/Alabama Winter or Summer Conference, lodging will be in the MGMA Group block)
DEADLINE:
Completed application for Winter Conference is January 30.
Complete application for Summer Conference is June 30.
